Local Joints TV is the creation of Darin Berntson, aka “Doc”.
After many years of working in the family retail/wholesale business, and spending the last five years owning an internet marketing company, Darin decided to get back to what he loved in high school, and that was video production and editing.
Darin is very passionate about video marketing, internet marketing, and social media. He has spent the biggest part of the last two years working primarily in the social media landscape learning and helping people and businesses work on internet and social media marketing strategies.
Introducing Local Joints TV:
This idea came to Doc while enjoying some of his favorite cooking shows on TV (Food Network and Travel Channel), and while eating at some of his favorite dining establishments. He wanted a vehicle to showcase awesome local businesses… especially in the food, fun, and entertainment categories.
After eating at many restaurants, and talking with the owners, he realized so many of these business owners had some really awesome/interesting stories that needed to be told, and that they were in fact a great establishment that many people may or may not have heard of.
Local Joints TV will feature businesses that fall in the food, fun and entertainment category. The business could be a restaurant, night club, a local band, or any type of entertainment venue.
Each episode is more of “Infotainment” than a review. It is similar to a show you many see on the Food Network… think Diners Drive-ins and Dives, add a dash of local flavor, social media, and promotion like crazy and you the essence of Local Joints TV.
Doc feels strongly about a business being able to tell their story, especially through video. With video a business can connect with their customers or future customers like never before. A business can show off their establishment, show meals being prepared, and best of all, show customers enjoying the business as well as adding testimonials. Add to this the power of social media, a “local joint” has more personal ways to connect with customers like never before. And if a business really gets this concept… they have an ability to create brand evangelists both online and offline. Think word of mouth “marketing” on steroids!
