(Quick Video note: Be sure to watch in 420p or 720p for the best video/audio quality)
Local Joints TV is thrilled to bring you Salsa Leedos Mexican Grill and Catering in West Jordan, Utah!
I was very excited when Salsa Leedos signed up to be on the show. Travis Bonino (owner) is a great guy, and we had a lot of fun shooting the episode.
Salsa Leedos was opened in September 2001, and the restaurant is family owned and operated. Travis and his family love the restaurant business, it is something they are very passionate about. They obviously love Mexican food, and in fact travel to Mexico often to get ideas to add items to their menu.
Everything is prepared fresh at Salsa Leedos every day. Everything is hand prepared in the kitchen, including the chips and salsa!
The Menu:
Travis talks about many of the Salsa Leedos menu items including:
- Chile Verde: This is one of the most popular items on the menu
- Green Chile Baby Back Ribs… a unique item for a Mexican restaurant, and WOW are they good!
- Awesome Sizzling Fajitas!
- Vegetarian Menu including: Veggie Platter and Veggie Stir-fry
- The Grilled Chicken Tortilla Salad… Looks amazing and is a favorite lunch menu item!
- The HUGE Kids Menu including American Food favorites like Mac and Cheese and Hamburgers to Mexican favorites enchiladas, tamales, chimichangas, tacos and salads.
The Bar:
One awesome feature of Salsa Leedos is the full bar. The bar is the centerpiece of the restaurant and features 5 52″ flat screen TV’s as well as a 180″ HD projection TV. Is there a particular game you want to watch? Just ask the staff and they will be more than happy to get it turned on for you!
It is a full bar here at Salsa Leedos offering liquor, beer, mixed drinks as well as margaritas and daiquiris.
Catering:
Salsa Leedos also has a catering division and it is off the hook, and Salsa Leedos is one of the only Mexican restaurants to offer catering! They will cater small groups of 10-15 people, up to 2800-3000 people for larger events. Travis said he could do an event for up to 10,000 people as well, all you need to do is ask, and he’ll take care of you!
His phone rings a lot for catering, and often times it is last minute. So, if you have an event that needs catering call Travis at Salsa Leedos, and he will take care of you!
Social Media:
Travis has a ball on Facebook, and it shows on his fan page for Salsa Leedos. He is always offering daily deals to fans of Salsa Leedos and snapping photos of customers and adding them to the photo albums. He has a very active fan base on Facebook, and his customers love to interact with him as well as make reservations and book parties. In the coming weeks Travis is going to be firing up his new Twitter account as well as start to get active with Foursquare.
Weekends:
On the weekends at Salsa Leedos you can come in and dine with the band. Friday night is acoustic music and on Saturday the John Van Wagner band busts out the instruments and rocks Salsa Leedos! Often times you may see a mariachi band, balloon artists and even a magician. In the summer time, Salsa Leedos hosts car shows, and there will be live music at those events as well!
The best way to keep up to date on all events is to become a fan on Facebook, follow on Twitter and sign up for the Salsa Leedos email newsletter on their website.
Community and Charities:
Travis really measures his success on what he can give back to the community. One of the big ones is that Salsa Leedos sponsors the D.A.R.E. Program. When the kids graduate D.A.R.E. they get to go on a field trip to Salsa Leedos and have lunch on the house! Travis feeds anywhere from 10-15 thousand kids a year who graduate from the D.A.R.E. program.
The Salsa Leedos Employees:
Travis explains to us how awesome his staff is at Salsa Leedos. They are the driving force of the business, and he still has some employees that have been with him since they day he opened the doors in 2001, and that says a lot about the organization.
Wrapping It Up:
We also asked a few folks who were at the VIP dinner event what they thought of Salsa Leedos Mexican Grill, what they had to eat, and what they thought of their meal.
I am pretty sure everyone went home happy and with full tummies… I know I did! In fact, I tried the ribs for the first time, and believe me when I tell you… they ROCK!
After the credits, be sure to stick around for the blooper reel! I mean really, who does not like bloopers?
Well, that’s it for our second episode of Local Joints TV, and I hope you enjoyed it!
I look forward to bringing you more, awesome, Local Joints!
Until next time we eat, meet, or just plain old have fun,
Doc
