Local Joints TV Visits Smashburger – Episode 1

For our first episode of Local Joints TV we are very excited to present Smashburger.

Months ago I was at a grand opening event in West Valley City, UT for the first Smashburger to open in Utah, and I fell in love at first bite! (You can read that article here)

When I heard Smashburger was opening a new location in Draper, Utah I contacted them immediately about an idea I had for a new online TV show, and I was so happy when Smashburger signed off on the idea.

So with that said I give you Local Joints TV… what a great “Joint” for us to start out with!

In This Episode:

We take a few minutes and interview Tom Hartman who is from Draper, Utah. Tom is the Operating Partner of this Draper Smashburger location as well as other Smashburger locations in the state.

During our interview we discuss what is behind the name of Smashburger, and I get a chance to get behind the grill and make my favorite menu item… the Founder Burger! Watch me cook up a storm… well okay, watch me SMASH a burger! Oh and you get to learn what is “Meat Candy” too!

We also talk about many of the items on the menu, including the items that have been introduced for the market here in Utah only such as:

• The Beehive Burger, a delicious hamburger with BBQ sauce, applewood bacon, haystack onions, cheese all on a wonderful egg bun!
• We kid around about fry sauce, yeah it is a Utah Thing… you know you want Fry Sauce!
• The localized milkshake… aka The Grasshopper Shake (oh is that good!)
• The Smash Chicken sandwich
• The Salad lineup: Smash Wedge. Cobb Salad, and the Side Salad that you can get with your sandwich
• The Chicago Dog that could quite possible rival a Chicago Dog in Chicago!
• Kids Menu Chicken Strips, Burgers, Hot Dogs and Grilled Cheese
• The Founders Burger: This is my personal favorite. Watch us make it, but I warn you, your mouth will water! This item is not even on the menu… so get in the know!
• We introduce you to Smash Fries, some of the tastiest fries I have ever had! Bet you can’t eat just one!

We also talk about social media, and how Smashburger uses it. They are active on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and and a great website!

Tom takes a moment and talks about working with his team, and hanging out with the guests!

We also asked a few folks who were at the grand opening event what they think of Smashburger, what they had to eat, and what they thought of their meal. I am pretty sure everyone went home happy and with full tummies… I know I did!
